Streisand Pens Fundraising Plea For Senate Democrats

Actress and longtime Democratic activist Barbra Streisand has lent her name to a fundraising plea from the Senate Democrats’ campaign arm, writing that people like the Koch brothers are already putting in money in the race for the White House and in U.S. Senate contests in 2016.

“It’s me, Barbra. (Really.),” reads the email from the Democratic Senatorial Campaign Committee (DSCC) sent Tuesday. “I’m passionate about politics because I believe that everyone in this country has the right to a fair shot and a decent standard of living.”

Republicans, though, only care about “limiting women’s choices and making the rich ever richer,” says the pitch, which came with the subject line “it’s truly scary.”
