Will Beyonce Replace Hamilton on the $10 Bill?

Treasury Secretary Jack Lew wants the American people to pick the woman whose face will replace Founding Father Alexander Hamilton on the $10 bill, but will he listen to them if they pick, for example, Beyonce?

That’s right, Lew and other Obama administration officials have invited folks to nominate the woman they think most represents the theme “An Era of Democracy” by tweeting their choice using the hashtag #TheNew10.

And so far, the winner seems to be pop superstar Beyonce.

“Who else wants Beyonce on the new $10 bill?” one tweet said.

Of course Beyonce isn’t the only woman Americans would like to see on U.S. currency. The website StyleCaster nominated six women on Twitter for the honor, including Beyonce. The others are Joan Didion, Mary Kate and Ashley Olsen, Gloria Steinem, and Coco Chanel.
