Indictment For
Solicitation Of Murder
SALISBURY — A local woman arrested in August after allegedly conspiring to arrange the murder of her brother-in-law was formally indicted this week in Wicomico County Circuit Court.
Corrina Joy, 47, of Selbyville, was arrested at her home on Aug. 16 by members of the Maryland State Apprehension Team and was charged with conspiracy to commit first-degree murder. The arrest came less than a week after the Wicomico County Sheriff’s Office learned of efforts being made by Joy to arrange for the murder of her brother-in-law. On Monday, Joy was formally indicted in Wicomico County Circuit Court on three counts including solicitation of murder-first-degree, and solicitation of first- and second-degree assault.
On Aug. 16, the Wicomico County Sheriff’s Office was contacted by an unnamed individual who told police he had met with Joy to have a cursory conversation about arranging the murder of her brother-in-law. The Wicomico Bureau of Investigation was contacted and assumed the case. Through a week-long investigation, measures were taken to confirm Joy’s intent.
